I carve high impact polystyrene plastic by hand, using traditional metal engraving burins. It takes up to an hour to carve a square inch, making the process long and meditative. When the carving is finished I ink the surface and print it on an old printing press. The pressure from the printing press transfers the ink from the carving to the paper, producing the print. Each print is editioned, though some are unique due to hand coloring or artistic experimentation.
