If you are an avid hiker, you might have come across a pile of bones at some time. I often wonder “who were you?” as I pass by. As recent years have led to loss, I wonder about the bodies we leave behind. We are so much more than muscle and bone, but without the soul and consciousness, we are mere matter. The dog sniffs the skull, a memory of scent, but the life is gone.
