TRAIL SONG

Opening Reception
Friday, May 20 — 6-8 p.m.
A.R. Mitchell Museum
Trinidad, CO

Curated by neü folk / Max Kauffman, this new exhibit showcases works from Colorado and New Mexico based artists Johnny DeFeo, Anthony Garcia Sr., Johanna Mueller, Alexander Richard Wilson, Mike Strescino and Jaime Molina.

“Blue sky like a blanket, shaking out the dust I’m looking for some green against the rust – Ayee-oooo”
– San Luis Valley Song, Annie Hills

“It’s said the song on long dusty stretches of the desert helped to ease pain and suffering. Songs were a practical tool — a means to quiet the cows and quiet the mind so neither would go wandering too far.

This is a show of frontier creators, each using a unique style to interpret the trail songs found along their own road west.” – Max Kauffman, Curator, neü folk
